Hi. We're Galaxy Chef — and we've been waiting for this moment for a while.
For the past year or so, our small team has been quietly working on something we care about deeply. We've been designing worlds, writing characters, arguing about flavor pairings, rebuilding things that didn't feel right, and slowly — carefully — building a game that feels genuinely ours.
We kept it close to our chest for a long time. Not because we weren't excited — quite the opposite. We wanted to make sure that when we finally opened the door, we had something worth showing. Something that felt real. Something we were proud of.
Today, we feel ready.
So, what is Galaxy Chef?
Galaxy Chef is a cozy cooking life sim set in a Ghibli-inspired solarpunk world. You arrive on Hestia — a remote colony at the galaxy's edge — and take over its only restaurant. You gather ingredients, cook for a tight-knit community, build relationships, and maybe even find love along the way.
It's warm. It's hopeful. It's the kind of game we wished existed — so we decided to make it ourselves.
Why now?
Because we're at a point in development where the game is starting to look and feel like what we imagined. The world is taking shape. The characters have voices. The cooking system is doing things that genuinely surprise us. We're not there yet — but we're far enough along to know we're going in the right direction.
And we didn't want to build this alone anymore.
We want to share the process — the design decisions, the happy accidents, the things we scrapped and why, the things we're most excited about. We want this devlog to be a real window into what we're doing, not a polished press release. Just us, working on something we love, and being honest about what that looks like.
What comes next?
More. A lot more. In the weeks ahead we'll be sharing updates on the world of Hestia, the characters you'll meet, the cooking system and how it works, and the team behind it all. We'll write about what inspires us and what challenges us. We'll show you things before they're finished — because that's where the interesting stuff lives.
If you've stumbled onto this page and something caught your eye — welcome. Add Galaxy Chef to your Steam wishlist, join our newsletter, and come find us on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and Facebook. We can't wait to share more.
Far from home. Right where you belong.
